Spent a wonderful few hours going around the Peggy Guggenheim collection. She lived in Venice from 1948 in a fantastic palazzo on the Grand Canal and was a major collector of contemporary art promoting newly emerging artists. Could have spent far longer and by the time we got to the cafe it was closed! Here are a few photos
Contemporary art in Venice
Masses of contemporary art in Venice. Extraordinary Damien Hirst exhibition entitled ‘Treasures from the Wreck of the unbelievable’. This sculpture was outside. We just looked in the window.
More pictures of other art works to come – street art, the Peggy Guggenheim collection …
Lake Garda
On the way to Venice decided to stay overnight at Lake Garda to stretch our legs. Very beautiful
Waterloo
On Monday in Belgium we went past Waterloo but I realised that my military history isn’t too good. Would anyone like to inform us about the battle of Waterloo?
And we’re off
Fantastic to suddenly see it there.
Stayed overnight on Marine Parade – a line of motor homes going on the morning ferry.
Drove through four countries today. Belgium got the thumbs down on the motorway services but Luxembourg has the cheapest fuel.
Now in a village called Perl in Germany staying in the car park of the swimming pool where motorhomes are welcome. Just up the road from the river Mosel sitting in a bar sipping… yes you’ve guessed!
Henry Moore in San Sebastian
Fantastic exhibition of Henry Moore sculptures on the sea front
Cornwall 2016
Stayed at a great campsite at St Ives just 10 minutes walk from the town and right by the sea. It’s called Ayr Holiday Park and I’d definitely go there again
It was on the coastal path and within a few minutes there was a lovely view of St Ives
Welcome to our travel blog
We’re off on our travels and thought it would be a good opportunity to capture some of the detail in a blog. As we travel around we’ll be looking at camping, motorhome stops, hiking, beaches, art, crafts and of course most importantly food.
